Create stunning images in this rugged and beautiful location.
Following the success and sell out of the last four Lake District portfolio days we’ll be returning again on October 9th and 10th for two days of wedding photography training complete with lots of hands on time with the models as we explore various lakes, jetties, Waterfalls, forests and stunning vistas of the English Lake District.
October 9th – We’ll meet at our location near Keswick before we head out to the first of our planned locations. Over the course of the two days we’ll be using many locations well know to landscape photographers because of the stunning scenery and locations. We’ll also head off the beaten track a little to utilise a number of other areas that have proved popular over the last four workshops. During the day I’ll be on hand to offer guidance and explain my ideas behind each shoot and how you can get the best of each location. We’ll be using natural light, off camera flash, video light and filters. I’ll also talk through how I would envisage editing the final image. Places will be limited to 12 photographers only ensure everyone has the opportunity to capture stunning photographs.
October 10th – Meet near Keswick at 10.00 ready for our first location as we head out exploring the northern Lakes. During the day we’ll be visiting a number of different locations taking in stunning scenery high up in the mountains and along with several lakesides and hill top views including a stunning mountainous view . We aim to finish at 18.00 near Keswick looking out to the North West for any possible sunset. Equipment you’ll ideally need : A camera with lens ranging from wide to around 200mm. A separate flash gun and a tripod. Whatever the weather we’ll be outdoors for the majority of the day so please bring warm and waterproof clothing. The locations are all easily accessible on foot, however not all locations would not be suitable to anyone with mobility issues as some locations maybe upto 200 yards from the roadside and involve crossing styles, uneven footpaths etc. A car will also be required for driving between locations. Experience level – Intermediate with knowledge of shooting in Aperture and Shutter Priority and use of flash.
Training and portfolio days are designed to help build your knowledge and confidence with real world advice and training that can be easily replicated on a wedding day.
Who can book– This course will cater for skill levels from intermediate to advanced. A good working knowledge of your camera and settings are essential to maximise the learning opportunities of this day. I would recommend a working knowledge of off camera flash before attending this day. Because of the nature of this day and the amount of information available to attendees I will not accept bookings from anyone within a 20 mile radius of my Postcode ( WF10 5EW )
Equipment Required– Camera with lenses from wide angle to around 200mm would be of the most benefit. A tripod for the night shoot and flash gun. Ideally you will also need a set of triggers to use with your flash. Waterproof clothing, weddings don’t stop if the weather’s bad and we’ll aim to shoot outdoors during the day. Getting here – Close to the M6 and A66 our meeting point will be near the town of Keswick in the northern lakes. The nearest mainline train station is Penrith and the nearest airport is Manchester.
Conditions of booking: All monies paid are non-refundable. Images taken on the workshop maybe used for marketing purposes including website and print they cannot be used for qualifications or competition entries. Whilst we aim to cover the full itinerary for the day we cannot be held responsible if due to factors outside our control we are unable to complete any part of the days course.
