The amazing Allerton Castle in North Yorkshire is one of the UK’s finest wedding venues. The castle is privately owned and no expense has been spared in the refurbishment and upkeep of the castle. During our workshop we’ll have access to the castle and grounds of this exclusive wedding venue. Our day will start indoors making use of the Billiard room, Drawing room and Great hall including the magnificent staircase, a must have photography location for any wedding and certainly our workshop.
During this time I’ll demonstrate my real world wedding lighting techniques, poses and how I quickly work out camera settings to quickly produce stunning wedding images. You’ll have plenty of hands on photography time to create your own reference images too that can also be used on your website gallery / portfolio.
Outdoors we’ll work in the gardens and grounds to create reflection images, silhouettes, big imposing skies and make use of the stunning gothic architecture to create strong wow shots that would amaze clients and help fill album double page spreads.
Over the course of the day I intend to demonstrate and make use of natural light and flash. Flash will be used on and of camera and will also include the use of coloured gels, grids and softboxes. You’ll have access to the flashes and lighting and triggers for all makes of cameras are provided.
All the photographs below are from real weddings at Allerton Castle and use locations and styles of images we’ll be creating on this workshop.
